MCM to Design, Build Test Equipment
For Motorola Inc.’s Automotive, Industrial Group

Farmington Hills, Michigan based Michigan Custom Machines, Inc. (MCM), designers and builders of custom test machinery for automotive and industrial component manufacturers, announces they will custom engineer and manufacture test equipment for Motorola, Inc. Automotive and Industrial Electronics Group in Elma, New York. With MCM as an integral testing partner, Motorola will test sensors for the pressure transducer component used in common rail diesel fuel injection systems.

Common rail injection systems are instrumental in developing diesel engines that comply with strict emissions regulations. Those systems use multiple injections per combustion stroke to control emissions, while controlling the injection quantity, timing, and pressure. This supports better performance than is available in gasoline engines.
